Home Away from Home (except better!)
“Highly recommend the Green Tree Inn for a quiet peaceful getaway. Connie’s warm hospitality made us feel comfortable and welcome – nothing was too much trouble for her. Connie even took the time to open up the village museum for us to have a look around. Warm homemade cookies greeted us every afternoon and delicious breakfast were made for us every morning. I often don’t make use of communal areas in guesthouses but at the green tree inn, I felt so comfortable to sit with a cup of coffee and read the newspaper in the afternoon. I was awe struck by just how spotless the rooms were -I would describe it as comfortable luxury. Just perfect.”
“This is without doubt the best service I have ever received In a guest house. Nothing was too much trouble for the delightful owners Connie and Gary. Connie prepared a home cooked 3 course breakfast for us every morning. There was also delicious home-baked afternoon tea every day. We were free to relax by the fire in the living room. There is a homely feel to the inn, very tasteful furniture, hand painted floorboards, antiques collected by Gary. The rooms are spotless and so we’ll taken care of. When we stayed the snow had come in and the Mississippi was frozen, I felt like we were staying in a winter wonderland. I didn’t want to leave. Amazing little gem of a place.”
Great Place to Relax!!
“We were so happy with this b &b. Connie and Gary were fantastic hosts who provided everything we could want or need. The food, cleanliness, and friendliness were outstanding. Highly recommend this as a perfect place to “get away” and relax.”
Staying along the Great River Road, Illinois
“This is one B and B that we will return to again and again in every season. Just a few miles north of St. Louis, MO, the Green Tree Inn provides a perfect base from which to explore the Mississippi River Great River Road between Grafton and Alton, IL, and beyond. The rooms are very comfortable and spotlessly clean; the common areas are cozy with coffee and snacks available all day and night, including freshly baked cookies that Connie leaves on the table every afternoon. These are only part of the extraordinary efforts that Connie makes to ensure that her guests are wowed! And she went above and beyond by preparing breakfast for us super early so we could get out to photograph the bald eagles. We Loved it here and will definitely be back in different seasons to experience the charm of the inn and Elsah.”
“Enchanting town, welcoming hosts and very comfortable B and B. Connie and Gary did everything they could to make our stay amazing. Warm cookies at night and an amazing breakfast. We visited the Grafton Winery for some good wine and food in the afternoon, walked a trail by PereMarquette lodge, took amazing sunset pictures up at Principia College campus, and had a great meal at Bossonova in Alton that evening. Great get-away! We will be back!”
Excellent Bed & Breakfast!
“We had an absolutely wonderful time in Elsah, IL at the Green Tree Inn. Connie and Gary were amazing hosts, the inn is beautiful very clean and is nestled in such a quaint, beautiful town along The Great River Road. Would highly recommend staying here.”
Thanks for the Memories
“My sister and I stayed here last night and it was wonderful. We just wanted to get away for a day to chat and enjoy the scenery. It was so clean, the breakfast was wonderful and the rooms were very comfortable. Could not have asked for more. Connie and Gary are just delightful hosts, they make you feel like old friends the minute you walk in. They were so helpful finding good places to go to eat and find things to do. It is not often you get way more than expected but this is one of those places. Can’t wait to go back. It is just an hour away from home but it seemed like a different world, the town is so quaint and the views are wonderful. Just off the river road in IL.”
